Principal Feature:
Mold steel 5CrMnMo is developed on the basis of medium carbon steel by adding mainly three elements: Cr, Mn and Mo. It can also be regarded as replacing the Ni element in 5CrNiMo steel with Mn element. This steel is a hot work die steel. Except for its hardenability and thermal fatigue resistance, 5CrMnMo steel has similar properties to 5CrNiMo steel, but its hardenability is slightly worse. This steel is suitable for manufacturing applications that require higher strength and high resistance. Various types of abrasive forging dies. When higher toughness is required, electroslag remelted steel can be used. The carbon content in 5CrMnMo steel is maintained at 0.40%~0.60%, which can obtain higher strength and thermal fatigue resistance, and a certain Hardness and wear resistance, good toughness steel and thermal conductivity.
Typical Application:
5CrMnMo hot work die steel is a nickel-free hammer forging die steel with properties close to those of 5CrNiMo steel. Suitable for making medium-sized hammer forging dies with side length ≤400mm.
Heat Treatment:
Quenching, 820～850℃ oil cooling.
